本活動為跨域所辦理國外學者參訪講座,適逢法國巴黎第八大學率團參訪本校之際,本所特別邀請到該校國際事務副校長阿諾.雷諾教授( Professor Arnaud Regnauld )蒞臨跨域所辦理專題講座。本場講座將以人工智慧時代的轉譯工具為核心,探討多語言環境下翻譯實踐的轉變,以及其在知識生產、學術溝通與文化理解中的角色與挑戰,進一步反思科技發展對語言多樣性與知識正義所帶來的影響。歡迎對相關議題有興趣的朋友踴躍參與,共同來探討AI時代下文化藝術所面臨的挑戰與解決之道。
阿諾・雷諾 (Arnaud Regnauld) 為美國文學與翻譯研究教授,現任巴黎第八大學(Vincennes–Saint-Denis)國際事務副校長,同時也是 ERUA(歐洲改革大學聯盟)學術協調人。
他著有一部關於 Shelley Jackson《Patchwork Girl》的專書(即將出版),並共同編輯多本論文集,包括《The Digital Subject》(2017)、《數位主體性與後人類》(Subjectivités numériques et posthumain,2020)、《數位時代懷抱中的當代美國小說》(Contemporary American Fiction in the Embrace of the Digital Age,2022)、《翻譯電子文學:未來何在?》(Translating E-Lit. Whither Now?,2023),以及《螢幕文化中的生命權力》(Biopouvoir en culture de l’écran,2026)。他近期研究聚焦於藝術、文學與哲學之間的關係,特別關注後人類主義、人工智慧,以及數位時代中新型態的主體性。

Multilingualism, Translation, and Epistemic Justice in the Age of AI
In this presentation, I will examine the relationship between multilingualism and epistemic justice in university and research contexts, drawing on reflections developed within European project on scientific excellence and responsible research and innovation. To frame my analysis, I will rely on Miranda Fricker’s distinction between hermeneutic and testimonial injustice. I understand hermeneutic injustice as arising when people lack the conceptual resources to articulate their own experience, and testimonial injustice as occurring when marginalized speakers are denied credibility as knowers. In this perspective, AI-based translation tools also deserve critical attention: while they can broaden access, facilitate circulation between languages, and support multilingual communication, they may also reproduce hegemonic linguistic norms, flatten semantic and cultural complexity, and reinforce existing epistemic asymmetries if treated as neutral technologies.

Arnaud Regnauld is Professor of American Literature and Translation Studies, Vice-Rector for Internationalization at the University of Paris 8 Vincennes – Saint-Denis and the Academic Coordinator of ERUA – European Reform University Alliance.
After writing extensively on John Hawkes’ later works, he has conducted research on Carter Scholz, Gary Lutz, Diane Williams and Matthew Derby’s short-stories, Percival Everett, Ben Marcus, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha and Richard Powers’ novels, Jim Rosenberg’s electronic poetry as well as on Mark Amerika, Michael Joyce, Shelley Jackson, Illya Szilak, Grégory Chatonsky, Duncan Speakman, JR Carpenter’s digital and print works, as well as Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Zach Blas’s and Leonardo Selavaggio’s artistic works. He is the author of a monograph on Patchwork Girl by Shelley Jackson (to be published ) and the co-editor of several collective works, among which The Digital Subject, (2017), Subjectivités numériques et posthumain, (2020), and Contemporary American Fiction in the Embrace of the Digital Age (2022), Translating E-Lit. Whither Now? (2023) and Biopouvoir en culture de l’écran [Biopower in Screen Culture] (2026). His most recent research focuses on the relationship between art, literature and philosophy with a focus on posthumanism, AI and new forms of subjectivity in the digital era.
